Meeting Announcement: March 2, 2023

Theme: Anything Goes

I.B.M. Ring 13 will hold our next hybrid meeting this Thursday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. ET (please note the new, earlier start time), in person and via Zoom. You are invited to join us via either of the following options:

  • In Person: Join us in the meeting room at the Eat’n Park restaurant located at 1250 Banksville Road, Pittsburgh PA 15216.
Please feel free to arrive one hour early, starting at 6:30 p.m., to join us in ordering food or drink before the meeting.
  • Virtual: Join us at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom from your PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, or Android device:https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86429080502
    Meeting ID: 864 2908 0502

Our suggested theme for March is “anything goes."

After our short business meeting, you are encouraged to perform or tell us about any magic at all—this month, there are no special suggestions, restrictions, or limits.
Any magic that you would like to perform or share will be fine.
Ring applicants who perform can have their performance counted towards their Ring membership.

Thank you to last month's (February) performers/sharers:
Ring applicant Dave Matheus (first performance for Ring membership), Ring applicant Josh Updyke (first performance for Ring membership), Jack Greenberg, Cece Wagner, Ralph Kelly, Roger Sacco, John Pedrotti, Eric Meredith, Jeff Vanderhoff, Lucy Hall, Levi, Todd Hertzberg, Michael Strough, visitor Dan Amos, and Dan Kamin.

And welcome to new Ring member, Ralph Kelly, whose application for Ring membership was approved.

URGENT: TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR THE 2023 I.B.M. CONVENTION at discounted fees

Today, February 28, is the last day for I.B.M. Members and non-I.B.M. members to register at the current rates (I.B.M. Member $290; non-I.B.M. Member $365 [includes 1-year membership]) for the upcoming 2023 I.B.M. Convention, to be held July 12-15 at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Hotel.

Convention registration fees will increase by $40 (to $330 and $405, respectively) tomorrow, March 1.

So if you were thinking of attending this year’s Convention in Pittsburgh but have not yet registered, please register today and save yourself $40 per registration.

Note: Anyone interested in volunteering to help during the Convention will be required to register for the Convention at the full registration price. There are no longer as many volunteer hours needed to be filled, so any local members who want to attend the regular Convention activities would need to purchase a full registration

We look forward to seeing you this Thursday, March 2, in person or online for our monthly meeting, or at our informal get-together on March 16 (see below).

Best regards,
Mark Zajicek
Secretary, I.B.M. "Tampa" Ring #13 - Pittsburgh PA
